The neon dwarf rainbowfish, also known as the praecox rainbowfish, is a small, shimmering schooler from the Mamberamo River system in West Papua, Indonesia. Males display an iridescent neon blue body that flashes brilliantly under aquarium lighting, with vivid red or orange fin edges that intensify during display. Females are less intensely colored but still attractive with a subtle blue sheen.
