The Boesemani rainbowfish is one of the most strikingly colored freshwater fish, native exclusively to the Ayamaru Lakes region of West Papua, Indonesia. Males display a dramatic two-toned coloring split: the front half of the body is a deep, iridescent blue-gray, while the back half transitions to a vibrant orange-yellow, creating a breathtaking bicolor effect. Females are more subtly colored with olive-silver tones.
