About Yoyo Loach
The yoyo loach is an active, boldly patterned fish from the clear, flowing streams of Pakistan and northern India. Its common name comes from the Y and O shaped markings on its flanks that spell out YOYO when viewed from the side, though the pattern varies between individuals. Yoyo loaches are energetic, curious fish that spend much of their time foraging along the bottom and investigating every crevice and hiding spot in the tank. They are social fish that establish hierarchies within their groups, sometimes seen stacking on top of each other in favorite hiding spots. Like clown loaches, they are effective snail eaters and are often added to tanks specifically to control pest snail populations.
